Kamaru was the 2010 NCAA Divison II National champion, holding a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He won The Ultimate Fighter 21 and is currently ranked #8 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings. Outside the Octagon, Kamaru is actively involved in the Lagos State Food Bank Initiative, gathering food from companies and contributors to feed the poor and malnourished children in Nigeria.
