Description: Day Two of Binance Blockchain Week in Paris took place on September 15, 2022. The focus of the day’s second half was ‘A Web3-Powered World’. Our panel ‘The Power of Blockchain and Uplifting Communities’ brought together industry experts to discuss how we make Web3 work for people, and take a closer look at the opportunities that this new era brings in moving us towards a more equal world. What does it take to ensure everyone is brought along on this Web3 journey, and how do we get there? Web3 is the vision of a qualitatively new iteration of the Internet, built on the ideas of decentralization, user control of personal data, and easy transfer of value online. Speakers for this session were: Scott Onder, Chief Investment Officer, Mercy Corps Ventures — a humanitarian aid and development agency. Max Semenchuk, Deputy Head of the Virtual Assets Project Office at the Ministry of the Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Andrei Kirilenko, Professor of Finance, Director of the Centre for Finance, Technology and Regulation at the Cambridge Judge Business School — the business school of the University of Cambridge. The panel was moderated by Dr. Taylor Benyahia, Digital Communication & Projects, Binance Charity — the first-ever blockchain-enabled transparent donation platform. It was a great learning opportunity for all those who attended. We thank all the talented speakers who joined us in Paris to share their knowledge with the community.
